SCHOOL PROGRAM — Bones: Your Inner Animal
This program is available almost every fall for local schools. UMass Dartmouth Biology students join to present a series of hour-long free programs for K-8 students. The kids rotate through a number of themed tables showing amazing skeletons, skulls, bones, and fossils. The college students explain concepts of relatedness of animals and adaptations. SUMMER — Science Camps for Girls
Every summer at Friends Academy (Dartmouth, MA), Professor Kavanagh runs a couple week-long science camp for girls Living Creatures Science Camp (grade 4-8) and Geology Camp (grades 2-4). They are a fun mix of nature study, lab study, and lots of art including scientific drawing, fish-printing, music and dancing!
