We have a long-standing interest in coral reef fish ecology and diversity, with over 35 years of diving and studying coral reefs in all tropical oceans. Like many people, we are increasingly concerned about the ecological resilience of reefs in the face of drastic environmental challenges. With both particular knowledge of Indo-Pacific reef fishes, reproductive biology, and a deep time perspective on ecology and evolutionary processes, we want to work with communities who depend on reefs to find better longterm protection strategies for these critical ecosystems.
